| As promised, here are some pictures of the front of my house.
This is the east bed. In the background is a rosebush, delphinium "blue mirror", an asiatic lily, in the foreground are my monster giant lambs ears. The red and orange scattered throughout are different kinds of marigold and calendula.

Just another view of the east bed. To the far left are African Horned violets.

Here is a view of the west bed at the front of our house. In the background is our speoria bush, guara and sedum stonecrop. In the middle are oriental poppies. In the foreground is hens and chicks, more violets, marigold and calendula and arabus (sp?)

Another view of the west front bed. This time showing another set of Asiatic lillies in the upper left-hand corner.

These guys are the verbascum on the west side of our house.

The homecoming of Andre the Birch tree.

| This is spooky on so many different levels. You can type in any address and it will show an aerial photograph of that location. Yes indeedy, Big Brother is certainly watching all of us. GlobeXplorer ImageAtlas | | |
| Pioneer Thinking is a wonderful resource. I recommend everyone visit the site. I subscribe to their newsletter and I find it helpful. Not many sites do this for me as I find a lot of women's sites a bit too patronizing.
On the insulin front, things are going okay. The type of insulin I'm taking, Lantus, burns when it goes in because of the higher PH level. Not fun. But eh. What are ya going to do?
Thank you to snowpeanut, abyss, spockslovechild and detroitpinay for the encouragement. You guys are great!
| I took my first injection of insulin at midnight. It didn't hurt! In fact, I didn't even feel it. It was like watching the needle going into someone else's skin. Right now, my sugars are running high because of the change over from the pills. I feel wonky and tired, still proud of my achievement though! I can't wait until my sugar levels work their way down to a healthy point.
This insulin thing is a milestone for me, not in so much that I got over my needle fear, but in that I've made a positive step towards motherhood. I feel like I've made a deeper commitment to Mike and a deeper commitment to me.
